About the Artist

The artist with her dogs

Lesley Howarth BA (Hons) MSc

Working mainly in artists pastel, I have exhibited and sold my art at many venues including; National Exhibition of Wildlife Art, Marwell International Wildlife Art Society Annual Exhibition, The Wildlife Art Society International Annual Exhibition, Association of Animal Artists Exhibition, Animal Earth Exhibition. I was the Poster artist for the 2015 Yukon Quest 1000 Sled Dog Race and in 2010 a finalist in the BBC Wildlife Artist of the Year World Mammals category.. My work has been sold internationally.

I have painted a wide variety of animals from working police dogs, champion show horses, Crufts qualifiers and of course many family pets. Wildlife Art forms a large part of my work. I strongly believe the artist can play a role in helping conserve and bring to attention the plight of many beautiful endangered animals. I have been fortunate enough to observe Whales and Dolphins and a large variety of birdlife off the Icelandic Coast, in addition to studying and photographing wolves, leopards and other endangered animals at sanctuaries and conversation projects and spent time in the Arctic Circle.

I currently reside in the North West of England UK with my wonderfully supportive husband, our young son and Siberian Huskies.
